Louis J. Halle, Jr. Collection 1963, 1975-1992

This addition to the Louis J. Halle, Jr.Papers consists of ca. 400 items (2 Hollinger boxes, ca. .5 linear feet), 1963, 1975-1992, including typescripts of "The Evolution of World Politics," "The Fear of Man," "Notes on Time," and "A Recollection of Birds"; two typescripts of his book The Appreciation of Birds; and his correspondence with several publishers concerning its publication. There is also some printed material concerning birds scattered throughout the correspondence files. The majority of the correspondence is with the book's publisher, The Johns Hopkins University Pressand the Director of the Press, Jack G. Goellner. Other correspondents in the Johns Hopkins folders include: the Danish illustrator Jens Gregersen, biologist John Bonner(who wrote the foreword), Herb Bailey, manuscript editor Carol Ehrlich, and Jim Johnston, Associate Director.
